She is a recognized world leader in Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience at the forefront of research on executive functions (EFs). She holds the 13th position in the ranking of the 30 most influential neuroscientists alive today (Online Psychology Degree). She is currently the Canada Research Chair Professor of Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. Her lab examines fundamental questions about how the prefrontal cortex (PFC) of the brain and EFs are influenced by biological factors (e.g., genes and neurochemistry) and environmental factors (impaired by poverty or stress and improved by creative interventions and programs). She has a track record of discoveries that have improved treatment for medical disorders (PKU and ADHD) and impacted early education, improving millions of children’s lives.

She was a member of the AMI Pedagogical Committee, in the association´s headquarters in Amsterdam from 1982 to 2010. David Bueno holds a PhD in Biology and currently works as a Genetics professor and researcher at the University of Barcelona. His academic background and professional career, focused on Genetics Development and Neuroscience and their relationship with human behavior, including learning processes, has developed mainly in Barcelona. He has worked as a researcher at Oxford University and has been a visiting scholar at Innsbruck University (Austria) and the European Molecular Biology Laboratory of Heidelberg (Germany). He teaches different subjects in the area of genetics and lectures in various Masters and Postgraduate courses on Neuroscience at the University of Barcelona and the Universitat Central de Catalunya. He has published 60 scientific articles in specialized magazines and he is the author of around thirty textbooks. Dr. Steve Hughes is a well-known expert in education and brain development, and has lectured at conferences, universities, schools and training centers all over the world. He serves as Chair of the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) Global Research Committee and is a member of the American Montessori Society Research Committee. He is past president of the American Academy of Pediatric Neursopsychology and his studies on memory training and attention deficit have been recognized by numerous specialized magazines.

Francisco Mora is a Professor of Human Physiology and Chairman of the Department of Human Physiology in the Faculty of Medicine of the Universidad Complutense of Madrid. He holds a PhD in Medicine from the Granada University and a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Oxford. He is also Adjunct Professor in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics at the University of Iowa. He is the author of numerous books about Neuroscience, such as "Neuroculture, one culture based on the brain", "How the brain works", "The forest of thoughts", "The God of Each: Why Neuroscience Denies the Existence of a Universal God" and his most recent book "Neuroeducation. You can only learn what you love". He has received numerous awards and recognitions, among them the NIH Fogarty Center (Washington. EE.UU.), the British Council (London) and the European Training Programme (Brussels).

Andrés Martín holds a degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Navarra, a Master’s degree in Business Management from the University of Deusto and a PhD in Psychology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. During 16 years, he developed his professional career in international business with executive positions in several international companies and received the gold medal of the Chamber of Commerce twice. Seeking a career change, he studied Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) at the Medical Center of the University of Massachusetts (USA) and became a certified teacher. He introduced the MSBR program in Spain in 2004 and he was awarded the prize REIDE 2005 of the Kovacs Foundation for his research on stress reduction. He is the author of several books, including "Plena mente: Mindfulness o el arte de estar presente", "Aprender a cambiar con Mindfulness" and "Con Rumbo Propio: Disfruta de la vida sin estrés", and he has published many scientific studies on mindfulness and resilience.

Doctor Manel Roig-Quilis specialized in Pediatrics at the Pediatrics Institute of Barcelona and the Children’s Hospital of Oklahoma University (USA). He completed his Neurology residency at the University of Colorado (USA) with particular emphasis on Child Neurology. He finished his PhD thesis at the Thomas Jefferson University of Philadelphia (USA) and the Autonomous University of Barcelona. From 1995 to 2013 he was Section Chief of Pediatric Neurology at the Vall d'Hebron University Hospital. He currently works as a Child Neurology Consultant at Quirón Hospital and El Vallés Neuropediatric Unit for diagnosis and treatment of students (UNDEV). He has published many articles in pediatric neurology specialized magazines and scientific journals.

El Dr. Pere Boadas-Vaello es doctor en Biomedicina por la Universidad de Barcelona y actualmente profesor agregado de Fisiología en el Departamento de Ciencias Médicas de la Universitat de Girona. Ha sido investigador postdoctorado en el Juan de la Cierva en el Instituto de Neurociencias (UAB) y el Brain Mind Institute de Lausana (Suiza). Focaliza su investigación en los efectos neuropatológicos y comportamentales de lesiones traumáticas y tóxicas sobre los sistemas sensorial y motor en los Grupos de Investigación NEOM (UdG) y Fisiopatología y Toxicología de Sistemas Sensoriales y Motores (UB).

La Dra. Marta Portero-Tresserra es licenciada en Psicología y doctora en Neurociencias por la Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona. Ha sido profesora asociada del Departamento de Ciencias Experimentales y de la Salud de la Universitat Pompeu Fabra de Barcelona e investigadora del Grupo de Investigación de Neurobiología del Comportamiento (GRNC), en el que participa en las líneas de investigación de fisiopatología del dolor y neurobiología de los trastornos afectivos. Actualmente es profesora del Departamento de Psicobiología y Metodología de las Ciencias de la Salud en la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Grado de Psicología) y colabora en tareas de investigación en el instituto de Neurociencias de la UAB.
